Lifestyle & Birth Photographer
“Brittany is amazing. She made us feel so comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. We’ve done family photos every year with several different photographers and Brittany’s photos are the best ones we’ve ever had! I hope we can work with her again soon.”
Lifestyle
Okay, so let me try to explain a lifestyle session to you guys. Pretty much it means that you are being REAL! Okay sure, I throw in a few portraits of you and your family standing their smiling but for the most part I am simply capturing who you are and how you really were in that moment. Not a fake and posed image, but you genuinely laughing and having a good time. Smelling the roses if you will!
FAMILY
Long gone are the days of awkward family portraits of everyone standing around with their hands in their pockets. Let me bet the one to catch Little Susie wrapping her arms around her Daddy so tight that he can’t breathe! You will want to remember how that hug felt one day, and you will have authentic memories to look back on during these sessions.
COUPLES
I want you guys to connect and make genuine interactions with each other. Breathing her hair in and having him wrap his arms around you like there in no other place he wants to be in the world but in that moment of time, with you. Don’t worry, it isn’t all sentimental. I make sure of that and will keep you both giggling the entire time and you will probably leave thinking that was actually fun.
birth
Birth photography is among my favorite photography services I get to be a part of. Birth sessions are so filled with love, raw emotion, and new beginning that they simply make for incredible photos.
Birth photos usually are very unpredictable, for obvious reasons. You never know when the baby will arrive, so coordinating birth pictures can be a little difficult. Normally, I have the couple contact me (either call or text) to tell me that they are on the way to the hospital or about to leave for the hospital. I will start making preparations to go to the hospital but I will wait until I hear how far along the mother is. I usually head to the hospital when the mother is dilated 7-8cm with her first baby. With the second and on, I am to head there around 5-7cm.
When I arrive, I will quietly take a few candid photos of the mother laboring... along with some sentimental, candid photos of the couple before they officially become parents. As the baby enters the world, I typically stay at an angle that will create beautiful, tasteful photos that won't make your granny gasp! (If you know what I mean! haha) I quickly capture those first breaths and first skin-to-skin interaction with mama. I slide around the room, quietly taking photos of the proud parents admiring their precious gift.
